En Ok Pool Reform within Climatized pool we want to present you the option of heat the water with a pool heat pump.

pool heat pump What is heating a pool with a heat pump?

Our recommendation for heat the pool: Pool covers or pool cover  (maintains the water temperature) + pool heat pump (heats the water).

Pool heat pump

A pool heat pump is a device responsible for the absorption and transfer of heat retained in the outside air to the pool water.

It is a type of power heater, however, it does not directly transform electrical energy into heat energy, it only uses electricity to remove heat from the environment. And water heating is done by heat exchange.

Factors and conditions to be evaluated to heat the pool with a pool heat pump:

  • Geographic area.
  • If we need the pump to be a defrost pump (it worked at less than 10ºC)
  • Degree of humidity.
  • If it is an area with strong winds
  • Volume m3 pool water
  • Hours of filtration.
  • We want to extend the season or swim all year round.
  • Pump noise / where we want to place it.
  • Electrical network – single-phase or three-phase
  • Take into account the COP (coefficient of performance), that is, with respect to the electricity consumed, how much the water temperature has raised.
  • It is important that the recirculation pump is capable of recirculating the total m3 of water in the glass.

Heat pump advantages:

  • Reduce water consumption
  • Maintains water temperature
  • Make the pool profitable
  • You increase its value
  • The price of the pump pays for itself.
  • Facilitates pool maintenance.
  • Comfort and well-being.
  • First of all, it must be emphasized that our recommendation and the most used method par excellence in heating pool water is: pool heat pump.
  • Installation must be done outdoors by a professional technician.
  • This equipment prolongs the bath temperature by heating your pool water with quality, reliability and at the best price.
  • The pool heat pump uses air energy to heat pool water.
  • They are made with an elegant design and silent operation.
  • Operation is simple and efficient with low electrical consumption.
  • It comes equipped with automatic defrost.
  • Heat pump installation is the simplest compared to other forms of heating.
  • It is the best option for heating swimming pools or gyms, schools, clinics or hotels.
  • The electricity consumption of the pool heat pump is minimal.
  • If you install a good heat pump: for every 5kW of power/hour only 1kW is consumed.
  • There are models that can even have a remote control
  • There are even models in which you can have mobile control of the pump over the internet.

Disadvantages of pool heat pumps

  • Heat pumps need maintenance later, which creates a high cost in addition to the price paid for electricity because electricity is fifty times more expensive than solar energy.
  • When the temperature is below 8 °C, this type of heater does not work, since the Freon gas used freezes, making it impossible to compress it.
  • Heating pool water is the best way to enjoy it all year round, however, it should be noted that heated water requires greater attention and treatment against bacteria that can proliferate more easily in warm and humid environments.

Pool heat pump operation

This type of equipment is structured in a cabinet and is designed to be installed outdoors. Its capacity is determined according to the dimensions of the pool.

It basically works like an inverted air conditioner, removing heat from the outside air and intensifying it with a compressor, which discards the cold air. The heat is transferred to a coil through which the water passes and is heated.

It is a more suitable type of heater for small pools, or to be used as a battery of heaters.
