Where is the devil's pool: the most dangerous pool in the world?
It is not every day that you have the opportunity to bathe in a pool that crowns thunderous waterfalls more than one hundred meters high.

How come the water level of Victoria Falls Devil's Pool is so low?
The answer lies in the rainy season, which lasts from December to April.
That's when most of the water falls into that huge crack between Zimbabwe and Zambia. However, from July to January there is a hot, dry period in this part of Africa, with very little rain and almost no river flow until it reaches Victoria Falls. This makes it possible - if the necessary precautions are taken - to hang off the edge of Devil Pool and plunge into the frigid waters below.
The first thing to do is to get into a safe position on that ledge, swimming beyond its limits (with life jackets for greater safety) until you reach an area where the Zambezi River falls into a small pool of water, which is sufficiently Deep enough to bathe in. Here you have to get off the platform and wait for one of the park guards who will check that everything is okay (no matter how tempted this extreme experience may be). Then it's time to take advantage of the incredible views over the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls before diving into its waters
It is an unforgettable experience, especially when at certain times during the high season, in the months of July to September, the water level drops 3 meters below where you can step on some rocks near Devil Pool.
This means that the most daring swimmers can hang from the edge of Victoria Falls without falling into oblivion. It takes courage, sure, but the effort is worth it for the spectacular landscape and its 360-degree views of the river and waterfalls. And by the way, if you venture to take this jump, don't forget to put on a protective helmet!

Whether you decide to take one of the many guided tours or simply explore on your own with a good pair of hiking boots and binoculars, this park offers a wide range of activities that will delight nature lovers. You can also visit several small caves near Devil's Pool; some come equipped with ladders for easy access, while others can only be accessed by climbing through narrow passages. The most important one is called Kakuli, which means "place of many birds."
